INTRODUCTION
The term gender doesn’t precisely talk about any specific gender, and it is being used in a very general way for the all types of gender. But the term gender inequality draws the attention of the globe throughout as gender inequality is quite self-explanatory and it does shows that a particular sect of gender is not at the same pedestrian as other one. Gender known as female sex surely comes under the ambit of inequality in the nation of India and world-wide. Apart from them a gender which recently became the talk of the world is the transgender community (LGBTQ+). Talking in Indian context these two genders are not even recognised either as a gender itself or in any sector of work for that matter. But that’s not helpful in any scenario as a developing country we are lacking in so much just because we cannot let our women out of the house and a theory that there is no gender such as transgender it’s a mental illness.
Moving forward with a point where every country is realising that how some factors which were being ignored by them was pretty much essential for the growth of the respective nation. That women who run the house is also important to run the world with socio-economic perspective, that it’s the time that women should come out and participate in the nations important decisions only then a nation will grow at its fullest. The moment where the world realised that the how crucial it is to give women equal rights and responsibilities would surely help in the growth of the respective nation what India did too. We still lacked at a point of recognising LGBTQ+ community and their rights and their responsibilities.
GENDER INEQUALITY SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL
The history has it on papers how women were just an object for a man in every religion and every country. In India women was subject to get married, have kids, take the responsibility of her family and please her husband (that is it). No view point on family matters, state matters, political and economic matters, nothing related to study, no dreams, no jobs, is what women was left with. Patriarchal society in India would not let the women grow but among all such chaos there was a legend who fought for women rights and who realised this that women are equally important at such time when it was even impossible to realise that women can be something more than a house wife. Talking about Savitri Bai Phule a woman who is said to be the first female teacher in India brought a wave where female came out of the houses and started to study. She opened the first female school in India with that she emphasised on women education, criticized dowry system and denounced child marriage, she struggled a lot to make the gender-inequality meet its end. After this till now women are still struggling in different sectors make their mark.
Recently section 377 of IPC was demolish by the judiciary with a view of giving trans-genders liberty to love whomsoever they want that their privacy is not subject to any unlawful conduct. It means that the time the law was made it was not even recognised that this can be possible in human nature to have these outcomes and even if it was recognised it was in a negative manner. Although back in Mahabharata Arjun became transgender for certain period of time it was recognised in that time also but over law making authorities took in some other way and recognised it in a negative form.
CAUSE OF INEQUALITY
We all know that equality is important for a nation to grow but what causes the inequality would be the point from where a country should start to point the causes of inequality and step by step remove those causes from the society and automatically a country will move towards a region where everyone would be equal and a nation would be developed nation.
Lack of education is the major point “Padhega India Tabhi Toh Badhega India” if we are not educated enough to work in a job sector or understand law or understand normal science how will we a nation with illiteracy provide equal rights to every citizen.
Even if a woman is equally educated as man there is no same job for her in the market and if there is then with lower wages. Not just in job sector, labour class also have women more than men but salary of women less than men. And trans genders are not even eligible for most of the jobs in india.
Racism equals to inequality one cannot talk about inequality without talking about the racism colour of the skin tone also decides the salary of the person and post of the person and body figure is also important than where would the growth of the nation will go.
Sexism is where men portrays women in particular picture and thinks that particular type of jobs not meant for them because it’s too risky or too complicated or too much of working hours so many things. And people with sexist ideology will not accept that transgender community can also have a position in the society other than what their image have been created by the society.
Societal intent is where every problem ends I guess. Society which has not just men but women and trans as well will lack with its mentality towards the point that it is important for every gender to come toward and develop individual as a gender group and get the freedom and then the society will she the magnificent changes in the livelihood of the people.
WOMEN AND DEVELOPMENT OF NATION
Ladies, one portion of the country, are as yet under social servitude and have suffered incredibly in Indian history. They have experienced absence of social freedom. They have confronted social disasters like child marriages, polygamy, and authorized widowhood. Ladies actually are considerably less instructed than their male partners. As mothers, females address the unimaginable profundities of human feelings. It is truly difficult to depict independently the different jobs females play to improve the world. The entire family rotates around the endeavours of the woman, so does the entire society and the country. The place of females in the public eye isn’t by and large what it ought to be. In the social and social fields, they have lost their position. In the financial circle of movement, however they assume a significant part, their commitment is not perceived, and as a class they keep on involving an optional position. Sadly, their weakness in various different backgrounds has prompted their abuse at pretty much every progression. Heaps of women in the general public are exposed to mercilessness and cruelty and exploitation. What is generally corrupting for ladies is that they are not exclusively being ignored in the social milieu yet are exposed to brutal savageries and outrages as a class. These barbarities are of many sorts going from mental torment to mental attacks, which regularly bring about murder or self-destruction. Denied of all training, limited to four walls of the house, seeing little of the world and knowing close to nothing of it, our women are worse than slaves.
GOING BEYOND PINK AND BLUE
Patriarchal society never let the women grow and after years of struggle when women had a little bit of recognition the countries felt that they are still lacking with the growth of the nation. The moment when the county India along with other nations realised that trans genders should be given equal recognition in the socio-economic perspective. Where on the one hand the nation is at its peak of the progress on the other hand a particular community is struggling to make its remark in jobs and demanding a third type of gender column everywhere they go. This how will we grow? A nations grow and a nation would be called a developed nation where it does not take years to add women in NDA exams and ages in adding third gender in id cards. Pink represents women blue represents men and theme pride is sham for half of the community still today and them think that suddenly we will wake up and India would be free from all type of backwardness and have all the good marks that we want it’s not how the progress works we have to legitimately accept the truth and adore it too.
CONCLUSION/SUGGESTIONS
- Education is key to make every impossible task, possible and hence let the society learn more about the transgender through the medium of education and accept them as humans which are alike us and not different from us in any way. Secondly let the women from every house get educated and catch her dreams because their dreams will surely let the country to a growing stage.
- Adequate no of seats should be given to both women and trans genders in all types of working sector whether government, private or semi government institute.
- Women and trans genders must be given more political and decision making freedom because the opinion which was suppressed for a very long time will might come as a point no one ever thought.
- Through the medium of social networking cites and media and TV we should generalise that people from LGBTQ+ community are not harmful and not different and should be accepted in the society as they are.
- Women should feel in their houses first and then on the public places as it will grow the women participation even more for sure.
- Sex education and health education and knowledge that how trans genders are actually normal and not mental illness should be provided to citizens.
For India it is still very difficult to accept the fact that women can run the world and with that narrow mentality we will never be able to achieve what we have dreamed of. People do talk about the women rights and their recognition and to an extent it is happing as well women are accepted in society more than just a house wife what we have to accept and adapt is that there are more colours in this gender spectrum expect for pink and blue which is the colour of the pride and we should affiliate it too as for the growth of a nation mare GDP and GNP rate touching the skies is not enough. Actual growth will where the genders which are unequal should be called as equal in all the manners. Deepshikha Singh
